About Brett Albro:
Mr. Albro joined Phase One Consulting Group, one of the premier enterprise architecture and strategy consulting firms in the Federal sector in 2007. As a Partner, he focuses on business development efforts and the formulation of the company’s strategic direction. Mr. Albro is an expert in IT transformation and governance with a heavy background in enterprise architecture planning and implementation. Mr. Albro has led teams in turnaround projects for public organizations that needed to jumpstart initiatives and see quick wins. As such, he understands the potential challenges associated with transformation projects. Mr. Albro is also active in the management of Phase One’s numerous contracts and task orders, with a focus on the national infrastructure, financial services, and public operations sectors – including clients such as the Department of Transportation, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Department of the Treasury, Housing and Urban Development, Department of Labor, the General Services Administration, and the Department of Education. Most recent experiences have focused on repositioning and increasing the value of CIO offices, with particular attention to core CIO service areas such as enterprise architecture, IT infrastructure modernization, cybersecurity, technology innovation and web/application design and development.
Mr. Albro began his career as an engineer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI where his responsibilities included developing signal analysis systems for use on US Navy submarines, coordinating technical engineering testing evaluations, and serving as a COTR for several government contracts. He spent one year supporting the Undersea Defensive Warfare Division PMO at the Washington Navy Yard as the NUWC technical representative. Following NUWC he spent over two years at Booz Allen Hamilton where he worked with clients such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Coast Guard, serving as a requirements manager and systems engineer specializing in the creation of uses cases, UML diagrams, enterprise activity roadmaps, and IT strategic plans.
Mr. Albro graduated cum laude from the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. Mr. Albro currently lives with his wife in Arlington, Virginia. In his spare time he is an avid soccer player, runner, and outdoor enthusiast.
